Fried gram Ladoo and an award


 Fried gram is a simple and tasty ladoo. One cannot resist with one Ladoo.A very healthy one, suitable for kids.

Ingredients:


  • Fried gram - 1 cup
  • Sugar - 3/4 cup
  • Ghee  - required to make ladoo
  • Cardamom powder - required

Method:


  • Grind fried gram and sugar together.
  • Add cardamom powder to the ground powder.
  • Add required ghee and make balls or ladoos.



Made this ladoo and Halwa for my kid's birthday! Halwa's recipe coming soon.

Kesar falooda Treat with Celebration !

Celebration time for my First prize I have won. Divya from You Too Can Cook - Indian Food Recipes conducted a wonderful event called Master chef contest. It was a big success. Wish you many more success Divya. Wonderful preparation.pre- event and post - event.Congratulations to you!! I have won 3rd prize in this event and bagged a title for " Smart cook ".


I have also won an award for Best Chicken Recipe for Chicken Pakoras.

Cheers to you Divya . Here is my Falooda . Enjoy it...

Ingredients:

  • Kesar falooda mix
  • Milk - 1 litre
  • Water - 1 glass
  • Ice cream - Almond flavor
  • Blueberry Jelly
  • Strawberry Jelly
  • Fruits ( optional) I have not added
  • Nuts
  • Jujubs
Method:

  • Boil milk and water. Allow it to cool for a while.Add the Falooda mix and stir well.
  • Allow it to boil for 10- 15 mins.
  • Allow it to cool down and refrigerate it.
  • In a glass , add the falooda which is chilled.
  • Cut the bluberry Jelly and strawberry Jelly and add to it.
  • Add a scoop of Ice cream to it.
  • Present it with Jujubs on top of it.

Mushroom Capsicum Stir fry and an award

Now on to the dish : Mushroom capsicum stir fry.




Ingredients:

  • Mushroom - 6-7
  • Capsicum - 1
  • Potato - 2
  • Onion
  • Sambar powder
  • Salt
  • Oil
  • Mustard seeds
  • Curry leaves

Method:

  • Chop all the vegetables into small pieces.
  • Heat oil in a pan, add curry leaves and mustard seeds.
  • Add capsicum, mushroom and boiled potato.
  • Add sambar powder and salt.Stir well. Close and Cook for 5 mins.
  • Keep stirring. Switch off once it is done..

My Second award and a thank you with Punjabi Samosa

Here is the thank you recipe.. And its Punjabi Samosa...





Ingredients:

Samosa Crust:

Maida / All purpose flour - 2 cups

Warm oil - 1/2 cup
Carom seeds / Omam / Ajwain - 1/2 tsp

Salt

Method :

Samosa crust


  • Combine all the ingredients in a bowl, using warn water knead a semi-stiff dough.
  • Cover in muslin cloth and keep aside for 20 minutes.
  • Divide into equal size ball and keep aside.
Ingredients:
Samosa stuffing:

Samosa Filling:



  • Oil -3 tbsp
  • Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
  • green Peas - 1 cup
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander powder - 1 tbsp
  • Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
  • Garam masala - 1 tsp
  • Mashed potatoes - 2
  • Salt
Method:
Samosa filling:
  • Heat the oil in a pan add the mustard seed when it splutter add the peas and fry for 2 minutes on medium flame.
  • Add the ginger-garlic paste, turmeric and saute for 2 seconds on high flame.
  • Add all the powder masala, fennel seeds, salt and potatoes and fry very nicely till it becomes dry.
  • Add the coriander, mix well. Keep aside.
Remaining Procedure:
  • Roll out the dough in small thin round chapati, cut it into half, make a cone of the half chapati and add the filling into it and close it with the help of water.





  • Repeat the same procedure with the remaining dough and the filling to get more samosas.
  • Heat the oil in a kadhai and deep-fry the samosa, remember that u should fry the samosa on a slow flame till golden brown colour from all the sides.

  • Serve hot with green chutney.




Green Chutney:

Ingredients:

  • Cilantro - 1 small bunch
  • Mint leaves - 1/4 cup
  • Garlic - 1 clove
  • Ginger - 1/4 inch
  • Green chillies - 2 small , seeded
  • Yoghurt - 2 - 3 tbsp
  • Lemon juice - 2 tsp or to taste
  • Salt - To taste
Method:
  • Wash the cilantro and mint leaves. Drain well.
  • Blend everything together in a mixer until you get a smooth paste. Adjust the salt and lemon juice.
  • Serve immediately.
