Lunch box menu # 9


Good morning all of you! Monday and the schools have reopened here. Lunch box and kids snack box must be ready in the morning.. Today's lunch box menu would be  curd rice and Keerai masiyal for the side dish.


Here I have kept plain curd rice in the box. The cure rice can be given a tadka for enormous taste.

Lunch box menu # 8


Lunch box deciding itself is a big head ache. That too simple lunch box is very difficult. The quantity must be less and also filling. It should also be nutritious . So need to satisfy hubby's request. So deciding based on that. Hope you like all my lunch box ideas.

Lunchbox menu # 7


Lunchbox  deciding itself is a big task. That is the reason I am posting the menus that I give for my hubby to his office. Simple and filling lunch box ideas. Here it comes.
Today's menu is lemon rice and potato fry.


Whatta combination.. You can have it all the time...


Lemon rice recipe
Potato fry recipe

Ingredients:


  • Potato - 250 gems chopped into small cubes
  • Sambar powder - 2 tsp
  • Salt
  • Curry leaves
  • Mustard seeds
  • Oil
  • Turmeric powder
  • Hing
  • Water


Method:


  • Heat a pan, add oil and splutter mustard seeds. 
  • Add curry leaves, hing. Add the chopped potatoes.
  • Add the turmeric powder,sambar powder, salt and sprinkle some water for it to boil.
  • Close and cook for 5-7 mins.stir occasionally.


Yummy potato fry will be ready in mins.

Lunchbox menu # 6


Another lunch box menu today. The menu is unite simple. It is vetha kuzhambu and cabbage poriyal.
Vetha kuzhambu is a spicy tangy curry made of tamarind.

Vetha kuzhambu recipe


Cabbage poriyal recipe : 

Ingredients : 

  • Mustard seeds
  • Urad dal
  • Hing
  • Cabbage - 1 cup
  • Salt
  • Green chilly -2
  • Coconut - grated 2 tbsp
  • Oil


Method :

  • Heat oil in a kadai, add the mustard seeds, urad dal, hing, curry leaves.
  • Add the green chillies, cabbage and salt.
  • Sprinkle little water and close the pan .
  • Stir after 5 mins. When the cabbage is boiled, add the coconut.
  • Stir well. 


Combination with Vetha kuzhambu is divine!

A new week to begin.. What's in the box today? Monday morning. The box must be enjoyable!
Today's lunch box menu is paneer fried rice and veggie momos!



Paneer fried rice recipe here . I have updated chicken fried rice , for paneer fried rice. Add paneer instead of chicken.

Its midweek already. Yet another lunchbox menu here. My hubby wants the lunch box to be very simple. That is the reason, it's been very light and simple always! You can make any changes if you wish to. it's the basic idea that I am sharing!

Lunch box menu # 2


Today s lunch box menu item will be coconut rice,ivy gourd poriyal and buttermilk.

ivy gourd poriyal recipe :

Ingredients: 

  • Ivy gourd - 1 cup cut lengthwise
  • Sambar powder - 2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
  • Salt
  • Oil
  • Mustard seeds
  • Urad dal
  • Asafoetida
  • Water
  • Curry leaves


Method: 

  • Heat a pan, add oil. Splutter the mustard seeds, urad dal, asafoedita, curry leaves.
  • Add the ivy gourd, sambar powder, turmeric powder , salt and water for the vegetable to boil.
  • Close with lid and cook it till the vegetable is boiled and fried.
  • If you want it to be a fried one. Add extra oil and keep in simmer. Ivy gourd poriyal tastes yum with all the dishes.

From today I will be updating lunch box menu which I pack for my husband. He prefers a simple lunch box with less quantity. So the dishes would be simple and tasty and filling too...
