Chocolate Balls




Hi ,

Today I am in a very special mindset. There are two reasons behind it.
My cutie pie's birthday( Sep 18th) is nearing and our wedding anniversary ( Sep 20th) tooo...... I am in a wonderful celebration mood with an extended sweet tooth.


Coming to today's recipe. It is Chocolae balls. Sorry about the picture for Chcolate balls, I have actually cropped it from the group photo. I lost my camera , with that i lost my individual snaps as well. This was actually made for a celebration.For the day me and my hubby met first. A surprise candle dinner at home. The Menu was simple.It was Vegetable hakka noodles, Chilli chicken and chocolate balls.He really enjoyed the dinner.

So here is the recipe for Chocolate balls.





Ingredients:

  • Milk powder - 2 cups
  • Sugar - 11/4 cup
  • Water - half cup
  • Cocoa powder - 3 tsp
  • Butter
  • Cashew powder - to dust the balls


Method:

  • Heat a pan, add the butter and melt it.
  • Add all the ingredients together and mix well.
  • Keep on stirring in intervals. When they start to leave the sides. Mix it.
  • See the consistency when it can be poured from the pan.It will form like a ball and come together.
  • Transfer it into the plate and allow it to cool.
  • Take small balls of the chocolate and smooth it between your hands.
  • Sprinkle the cashew powder around it.

Paneer Frankie/ Paneer wraps

Ingredients:
  • Paneer - 200 gms
  • Wraps - 4
  • Onion - 1 Chopped
  • Tomato - 1 chopped
  • Coriander leaves
  • Capsicum - 1
  • Chilly powder - 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder - 2 tsp
  • Turmeric powderf - 1/2 tsp
  • Salt
  • Butter - 2 tbsp
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1 1/2 tsp
  • Garam masala - optional




Method:

  • Heat butter in a pan, Add the onions, fry till they become translucent.
  • Add gingergarlic paste.Stir them.Add tomatoes. fry till they become mushy.
  • Add chilly powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and salt.Mix them well. Stir for about 2 mins.
  • Add Capsicum and saute.
  • Add the chopped coriander leaves.
  • Finally add the paneer.
  • Mix them well.Sprinkle little Garam masala to the gravy and stir.

To place the frankie, take a readymade wrap.

  • Heat it for two mins on both the sides.add butter on the layer.
  • Spread the prepared Paneer filling.
  • Roll it from one side and wrap it to the other end.

Yummilicious paneer frankie ready

Whole wheat banana Pancake



Ingredients:

  • Wheat Flour - 1 cup
  • All purpose flour - 1/2 cup
  • Egg - 1
  • Baking soda - 1/2 tsp
  • Ripe Banana - 1
  • Melted butter - 1 tsp
  • Sugar - 3 tbsp
  • Cinnamon powder - 1 tsp
  • Oil
  • Honey - Required


Method:

  • Mix all the dry ingredients together.
  • Mix all the wet ingredients together.
  • Mix both and make it to a batter using water.Keep it aside for an hour.
  • heat Tava, make small , thick pancakes.

serve with Banana toppings and Honey.

Brinjal and black eyed peas stir fry / Kathrikkai karamani poriyal

This recipe is my mom's special item. it tastes really good with all rice varieties. i love it with curd rice. I can also be prepared with channa. Enjoy the recipe!





Ingredients:

  • Brinjal - 250 gms
  • Black eyed peas - 1 cup soaked overnight and boiled

To grind:

  • Onion - 2
  • Coriander seeds - 2 tsp
  • Red chillly - 4 or chilly powder - 1 tsp
  • Cloves - 2
  • Cinnamon - 1 "
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
  • Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
  • Tomato - 1

To Temper:

  • Mustard seeds
  • Curry leaves
  • Oil

Method:

  • Grind all the ingredients to grind into a paste.
  • Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, curry leaves, after the splutter.
  • Add the ground paste, turmeric powder and stir well.
  • Allow it to cook. Add black eyed peas and choped brinjal and salt.
  • Add required water and cover it and cook for 10- 15 mins.Stir occasionally.

Yummy spicy stir fry ready.

Chochella - Chocolate spread

It is indeed a Nutella without Nuts. LOL.... Thats Why i have named it as Chochella..


Ingredients:

  • Milk - 1 glass
  • Sugar - 1 cup
  • Cocoa powder - 3 tsp
  • cornstarch - 3 tsp
  • Butter - 1 tbsp
  • Water


Method:

  • Heat a pan, Addd the butter and milk.Allow the milk to boil.
  • Add sugar.Stir till it dissolves.
  • Mix the coacoa in little milk and add it to the boiling milk. Allow it to boil for sometime.
  • Meanwhile mix the cornstarch in little water without lumps.
  • Add it to the boiling cocoa mixture.
  • Stir till it gets thickened.
  • Store in a tight container.



Mouthwatering, finger licking Chochella is ready. Enjoy the true taste of Chocolate.

Capsicum rice/ Kuda milagai sadam



Capsicum is one of my favorite vegetables. i have started using it in almost all the dishes. Just made this flavorful rice.


Ingredients:

  • Capsicum Red - half cut lengthwise
  • Capsicum yellow - half cut lengthwise
  • Onion - 1
  • Cooked rice - one bowl
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
  • Salt
  • Garam masala - 1 tsp
  • Coriander leaves
  • Oil


Method:

  • Heat oil in a pan, add onions.stir till done.
  • Add GG paste . fry them well. Add the capsicum and stir.Add garam masala and salt.
  • Add the cooked rice to it.Add the remaining salt for the rice and mix well.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.

Easy and quick rice is ready!
Serve with carrot raitha.
