Bread omlette


Ingredients:

  • Bread - 2 slices
  • Salt
  • Egg - 2
  • Onion - 1/2 chopped
  • pepper powder
  • Oil
  • Green chilly - 1/2

Method:

  • Heat a tava, place the bread slices on the tava.
  • Mix rest of

  • te ingredients.
  • Pour it on the bread. Add oil to it.
  • Turn it and cook the other side.

Tasty bred omlette ready. Serve hot with Tomato ketchup.

Vaniyambadi Chicken biryani


Ingredients:
  • Chicken - 500 gms
  • Basmathi Rice - 2 Cups
  • Onion - 2
  • Tomato - 2
  • Green Chilly - 3
  • Curd - 3 tsp
  • Ginger garlic paste - 2 tsp
  • Cloves- 4
  • Cinnamon - 2 - 3 pieces
  • Cardamom - 4

  • Bay leaf - 2
  • Chilly powder - 1 1/2 tsp
  • Lemon - 1
  • Salt to taste
  • Water - 4 cups
  • Oil
  • Food colour optional . Saffron soaked in water

Method:

  • Marinate chicken with curd, lemon, ginger garlic paste and little salt.

  • In a Cooker , add oil , temper all the spices.
  • Add green chillies, onion together and fry it till brown.
  • Add ginger garlic paste. Then tomatoes. Stir well.
  • Add Chilly powder.
  • Later on add the marinated chicken stir it for about 10 mins.
  • Add salt and rice.
  • Keep for three whistles.
  • Add food colour / saffron, Stir well
  • Garnish with Coriander leaves.

Chicken Pepper Chettinad


Ingredients:

  • Chicken - 500 gms
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1 1/2 tspOnion - 1
  • Tomato - 1
  • Oil
  • Chilly powder - 3/4 tsp
  • Coriander powder - 2 tsp
  • Pepper powder - 1 tsp
  • Curry leaves
  • Green chilly - 1
  • Water
  • Salt


For tempering:

  • Cloves - 2
  • Cinnamon - 1"

Method:

  • Heat oil in a pan. Temper all the above ingredients.
  • Add green chilly, curry leaves and onions. Fry them.
  • Add ginger garlic paste till raw smell disappears.
  • Add tomato. Saute them well till mushy.
  • Add chilly powder ,coriander powder, pepper powder and salt.
  • Add chicken and water.
  • Allow it to boil well.
  • Finally add little curry leaves and pepper powder.





Tomato - Coconut Chutney

Ingredients:

  • Coconut - one handful
  • Tomato - 1 small
  • Fried gram/ Roasted gram dal - 3 tsp
  • Red chilly - 2
  • Garlic - 2 cloves
  • Salt

For tempering:

  • Mustard seeds
  • Curry leaves
  • Urad dal

Method:

  • Grind all the above ingredients.
  • Finally temper it.

Tasty Spicy Chutney is ready.

Capsicum Curry / Bell pepper Currry


Ingredients:

  • Capsicum - 1 1/2 chopped into square pieces
  • Chilly powder - 3/4 tsp
  • Coriander powder - 2 tsp
  • Coconut - 2 tsp grated
  • Onion - 1 finely chopped
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Peanuts - 1/2 cup
  • Salt
  • Green chilly - 1
  • Water
  • Oil / Butter
  • Tomato ketchup - 1 tbsp


Method:

  • Heat oil in a pan, season cumin seeds.
  • Add green chilly and onion. Saute them well.
  • Meanwhile, Grind coconut, peanuts, coriander powder, chilly powder, salt and ginger garlic paste.
  • After the onions are fried, add the ground paste.
  • Add little water. Close it and cook for 10 mins. See if the raw smell disappears.
  • Add tomato ketchup to give the tangy flavour.Stir well
  • Add capsicum to it and jus cook for 5 mins.

Awesome Capsicum curry is ready . Serve hot with Roti/ Naan/ Chapathi.

Semiya Egg Biryani

Ingredients:

  • Semiya - 2 cups
  • Water - 4 cups
  • egg - 3
  • Onion - 1
  • Tomato- 1
  • Lemon - 1/2
  • Chilly powder - 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder - 2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander leaves - one handful
  • Green chilly - 1
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1 1/2 tsp

For tempering:

  • Cloves - 2
  • Bay leaf - 1
  • Cinnamon - 1 "

Method:
  • Dry roast semiya separately and keep it aside.
  • Heat oil in a cooker, temper all the above ingredients.
  • Add green chilly and onions. Fry them well.
  • Add ginger garlic paste.Cook till raw smell disappears.
  • Add tomatoes.cook well.
  • Add Chilly powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and salt.
  • Add water and allow it to boilr.Add lemon juice and coriander leaves to it.
  • Add eggs to the boiling water. Stir them continuously
  • Finally add the semiya. Cook it opened .Garnish with coriander leaves.

Mix well -Yummy Semiya egg biryani readyBiryani is ready.

StrawberryPancake / Honey Pancake

Ingredients:


  • Maida - 1/2 cup
  • Water
  • Salt - a pinch
  • Sugar - 1 tsp

Method:


  • Mix all the above ingredients into dosa batter consistency.
  • Heat tava, make small thick dosas using batter. Turn around and boil. Pancakes are ready.

  • For strawberry flavour, apply strawberry jam on top of it.
  • For honey pancakes, apply honey.

Toddlers who like sweet taste, will definitely like this pancake.

Carrot Soup for toddlers




Ingredients:

  • Carrot - 1
  • Water
  • pepper powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Garlic - 1 clove
  • Salt

    • Boil Carrot and garlic in the cooker.
    • Grind it using water.
    • Add salt and pepper powder.

    Its very healthy for the babies since its rich Vitamin A. They would love to drink.

    Sago Vada / Sabudhana Vada

    Ingredients:

    • 3 medium potato boiled, peeled and mashed
    • 1 cup sabudana (sago)
    • Water (to soak sabudana)
    • 1 medium onion (finely chopped)
    • 3-4 green chillies (finely chopped)
    • 1 tbsp ginger (finely chopped/minced)
    • Curry leaves ( tear or finely chopped)
    • Vegetable/canola/sunflower oil (to fry around 2 cups)
    Method:

    • Soak the sabudana (sago) in water 3-4 hours.
    • It will puff up and become translucent. Drain excess water and mix the sabudana with all he other ingredients and form a dough (more like a chunky paste) except oil.
    • Add salt to taste. Divide the sago mixture into equal-size
    • d balls and flatten slightly to form patties.
    • Heat oil in a pan/kadai and fry the patties until golden brown. Drain on tissues and serve with Sauce.

    Palak mushroom


    Ingredients:


    • Mushroom - 1 pkt
    • Palak / Spinach - 1 bundle
    • Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
    • Water
    • Butter
    • Malai - 3 tbsp
    • Onion - 1
    • tomato - 1
    • Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
    • Chilly powder - 1/2 tsp
    • Oil

    Method:

    • Heat oil and little butter in a pan, temper cumin seeds.
    • Add chopped onions to it. Fry them well. Add Ginger garlic paste.
    • Fry till raw smell vanishes.
    • Add tomatoes.Cool till it becomes mushy.
    • Meanwhile, boil water in a vessel and add the washed greens.
    • Drain it and grind it into a fine paste.
    • Add chilly powder and salt to the tomatoes.
    • Add the mushroom. Saute once.
    • Add the palak paste. Stir well.
    • Allow it to boil once.
    • Finally add malai and mix.
    Garnish with 1 tbsp of Malai.Tastes best with Roti / Naan.

    Rose Kheer

    Wonderful dessert loved by my baby.


    Ingredients:


    • Milk - 1/2 litre
    • Condensed milk - 1 cup
    • Basmathi rice - 3 tbsp
    • Water - little
    • Rose petals - 2 flowers
    • Rose syrup - 3 tbsp





    Method:

    • Wash rice and boil in water.
    • After the rice is boiled , add milk to it.
    • Allow the milk to boil and add rose petals.
    • Add the condensed milk to it. Mix well.
    • Finally add the rose syrup.

    Sweety Rose kheer is ready. Garnish with Rose.
    Add nuts its optional. I didn't add nuts . I didn't want to change the taste.

    Manga pachadi


    Here comes the special sweet for tamil new year and Ugadhi. One of the favourite dishes from my grandma.


    Ingredients:


    • Raw mango - 1 cup
    • Jaggery - 1/4 cup
    • Water
    • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp

    For tempering:

    • Red chilly - 1
    • Ghee - 1 tsp
    • Mustard seeds
    Method:

    • Slice the mango into flat pieces.
    • Add turmeric powder and little water.
      Boil it in cooker for 3 whistles.
    • Add jaggery in water, allow it to dissolve.
    • Strain it and allow it to boil.
    • Add the boiled mango. Stir well. Allow it to boil once.
    • Finally, temper it.

    Baby Corn fritters

    I heard that baby corn has rich protein value. My 1 n half yrs old baby likes fried items. So i made her Fritters using baby corn.

    Ingredients:

    • Babycorn -4( cut into 4 pieces length wise)
    • Curd - 2 tsp
    • Red chilly paste - 5 tsps
    • Maida- 2 tbsp
    • Corn flour - 2 tbsp
    • Rice flour - 2 tbsp
    • Salt

    • Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
    • Colour- optional
    Other ingredients:

    • Oil
    • Roasted gram flour

    Method:

    • Marinate all the ingredients for marination for about 1 hr.
    • Heat oil in a pan, Shallow fry can be done.
    • Dip or coat the surface of marinated babycorn in roasted gram flour and fry it.

    Crispy baby corn fritters ready. My baby loved it and that gives a good calories for her dinner. It can also be given for evening snacks.

    Kanchipuram Idly

    Ingredients:

    -
    • Rice - 1 cup
    • Urad dal - 2 tbsp
    • Moong dal - 1/4 cup
    • Curd ( sour) - 1/2 cup
    • Salt

    For tempering:

    • Mustard seeds
    • Oil
    • Urad dal
    • Gram dal
    • Cashews
    • Green chilly - 2 finely chopped
    • Ginger - finely chopped
    • Curry leaves

    Method:

    • Soak rice and dal. grind it.
    • Mix it with curd.
    • Temper all the above ingredients in oil.
    • Mix it in the batter.
    • Make yummy idlies.

    You can make like normal idlies and also steam it in plate.

    Tomato Dosa

    Ingredients:

    • Tomato - 2
    • Red chilly - 3
    • Salt
    • Jeera - 1 tsp
    • Dosa batter - 2 cups
    • Garlic - 4 cloves
    • Oil

    Method:
    • Grind tomato , red chilly, garlic and salt. Mix it in batter.
    • Add jeera to the batter.
    • Make crispy wonderful dosas.


    I served it with Onion kara chutney. You can serve with any other chutneys.

    Onion Kara chutney



    Ingredients:

    • Onion - 1
    • Red chilly - 2
    • Hing
    • Salt
    • Tamarind - small piece

    For tempering :

    • Curry leaves
    • Mustard seeds
    • Oil

    Method:

    • Heat a tsp of oil in a pan. Fry the onions till they are translucent.
    • Add red chilly, tamarind and hing.
    • Add Salt and allow it to cool down.
    • Grind it and temper it.
