Sojji appam

Sojji appam is made with flour, sugar and the stuffing inside . This sweet is a simple and tasty recipe.
Made this Sojji appam by deep frying. I am also making this for 5 ingredients fix challenge.

The ingredients for this month challenge are flour, sugar, butter,salt and milk.

I have used ghee instead of butter. I did not bake.


  • Flour - 1 cup
  • Sugar - 1/2 cup
  • Milk - 1/4 cup
  • Rava - 1/2 cup
  • Salt - 1/2 tsp
  • Water
  • Ghee - 1 tbsp
  • Cardamom powder - 1 tsp


For the stuffing:
  • Dry Roast Rava and keep it aside.
  • Boil water. Add the sugar in the boiling water.
  • When it is dissolved, Add rava. Add milk to it. Mix well.
  • After the rava is cooked well ,add Ghee. Cook till ghee comes out.
  • Add the cardamom powder.
For pooris:
  • Knead the flour, salt and water together into a soft dough.
  • Take small balls and make small pooris, stuff the mixed Sooji mixture or kesari into it and make soft pooris.
  • Heat oil in a pan, deep fry the pooris and enjoy the sweet!
