Tandoori Chicken Tikka

 Christmas treat - I made Chicken Biryani and tandoori chicken tikka.

 
 


Yummiest Starter i ever had. I couldnt grill it, since I didnt have griller or oven with me. I made tava fry version.It turned out to be massive success.




I did not add any food color. Wanted to give a natural appearance for the tandoori.



Ingredients:

  • Chicken - 500 gms with or without bone
  • Curd - 3-4 tsp or even more.
  • Ginger garlic paste - 11/2 tsp
  • Chilly powder or kashmiri chilli powder - 3 tsp
  • Salt
  • Lime - 2
  • Curry leaves - for frying





Method:

  • Wash chicken and mix chilly powder, lemon juice,salt, gg paste and curd together.
  • I kept it for 24 hrs. It gave a juicy, yummy flavor.
  • Heat oil or butter in a pan, Add the marinated chicken at once and cook in medium flame.
  • Add the curry leaves. It has to be cooked for 15-20 mins till the color changes.
  • Do not add water, as it is a starter. It has to be cooked in the curd.
  • It gives a wonderful aromatic taste to the chicken once its cooked.
  •  Turn the sides often, for the chicken to cook on all the sides. Colour changes into darkbrown or even black( tandoor effect).

  • Transfer it to a plate wrapped with kitchen towel.





Serve it with lemon wedges and onion slices.
