Tandoori bbq Chicken

The new year , we kick started it with a get together with our friends. We jus planned to have a small bbq and to spend time in beach. Two families , we were. I chose chicken to marinate for bbq and chicken mayo Sandwich. Of course some juices and stuff. My friend chose prawns for bbq and she had brought tapioca stuff, it was a kerala dish. Se also made cupcakes and brought for us.

It was a good party though. My baby had a fun time playing with her dad in beach, took a bath in beach. She also built sand castle.I went on a small round in cycle.After so many years, driving bicycle was fun. It was raining heavily.As we started bbqing, it stopped. Thank god, the rain again poured off, s soon as we finished our circus with bbq and started to eat off hot hot Tandoori Chicken and Shrimps.

Off to the recipe:


  • Curd: hung curd - 1 cup
  • Chicken boneless - small pieces - 500 kg
  • Capsicum - cut into square pieces - 1
    Chilly powder - 11/2 tsp (preferable kashmiri chilly powder)
  • Salt
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
  • Lemon juice - half lemon
  • Color - optional ( I didnt add)
  • BBQ Skewers - few soaked in water


  • Marinate the above ingredients along with capsicum for about 24 hrs.
  • Before bbqing or grilling , place it on the bbq skewers with one piece chicken, one piece capsicum alternatively and place it on the tandoor.
  • Keep flipping its sides often.

  •  If you feel, you can brush oil before frying. But not necessary.
  • You can add tandoori masala, if you prefer.
  • Wet bbq skewers will not be burnt, while frying.

Yummy Tandoori BBQ Chicken is ready to serve with green chutney.
