Snake gourd Kootu




Ingredients:

  • Snake gourd - 1 big chopped into small pieces
  • Onion- 1 chopped
  • Tomato - half chopped
  • Gram dal - one handful
  • Garlic - 3 cloves
  • Sambar powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Green Chilly - 1
  • Salt

For tempering:

  • Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
  • Red Chilly - 2
  • Urad dal - 1 tsp


Method:

  • Wash gram dal and add to a vessel. add little water to it. Add all the other ingredients except salt.
  • Pressure cook for about 5-6 whistles.
  • later, allow it to boil for few mins.Mix well.
  • Temper with mustard seeds , Urad dal and red chilly.

Serve hot with Rice or Roti.
