Dumroot halwa is very tasty dish.. Its famous in Karnataka. I made this for Deepavali. It vanished even before Diwali arrived..So enjoy this flavorful Halwa..

Ingredients:
- White Pumpkin - 200 gms
- Low fat condensed milk - 1/4 tin
- Cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp
- Cashews
- Raisins
- Ghee
- Saffron
Method:
- Remove the skin and seeds Grate the pumpkin and keep it aside.
- Strain the excess water from pumpkin. Heat ghee in a pan, add the cashews and raisins.
- Remove the cashews and raisins.
- In the remaining ghee , add the pumpkin and fry for two mins.
- Add the pumpkin water and allow it to boil. Close and cook for 5-7 mins,
- Add the low fat condensed milk to it. Stir well.
- Soak the saffron in little milk.
- Stir well, add cardamom powder and saffron. Keep in simmer till the base is set in Dum.
- Allow it to cook till it turns brown in the below layer of the Halwa.
- Finally add the fried nuts.
