Poondu Rasam / Garlic Rasam - Mom in law's recipe

  • Tamarind - 1 lemon size
  • Tomato - 1/2
  • Garlic - 4-5
  • curry leaves
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Red Chilly - 2
  • Pepper and cumin seeds powder - 2 tsp
  • Asafoedita


  • Add oil, season curry leaves,garlic,red chilly and mustard seeds ,asafoedita and turmeric powder.
  • Add tomato.fry them well.
  • Add tamarind extract and add water.Add salt.
  • Allow it to boil.
  • Finally add pepper and cumin seeds powder and leave for 3 mins.

Poondu rasam ready.

    First time to ure blog...and it looks really nice! Great going! i love rasam and always love to try out different varieties. In fact, i found something very interesting on TV the other day, green chilly rasam! Ever heard of that? Well, I tried it out n it was real yummy! Spicy, but yummy! I've posted it on my blog too.
