  • Raw rice - 1 cup
  • Parboiled rice - 1 cup
  • Urad dal - one handful
  • Coconut - 1/2 cup
  • Salt
  • Water


  • Soak rice and dal together.Grind rice with coconut by adding water.
  • Add salt and mix well. Allow it to ferment overnight.
  • Add Baking soda while preparing aapam.

Serve hot with coconut milk or Kurma.
